Reconcile approved plans, as-built drawings, permits, manuals, warranties and final inspection evidence before closing.
The finished unit needs a usable document trail
Before final payment, reconcile the contract and approved design with dated as-built drawings for the unit and relevant building systems. Request completion and inspection records, equipment schedules, serial numbers, manuals, test results, warranties, keys, access credentials and the final defect register.
Record every missing or changed item, who must supply it and when. Independent legal and technical advisers should confirm which documents are required for the particular project and which omissions justify retention, correction or another contractual remedy. Review handover and final payment, variation controls and buyer service.
